The House

Large family home in the Cévennes: character, space and comfort, surrounded by 3.5 hectares of private woodland.

Space to relax and enjoy

Maison Peyre is more than just a holiday home. It is a warm family house, fully equipped for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Whether you come to hike, swim, cook and share long meals together, or simply to enjoy the peace and the views — Maison Peyre is the perfect setting for an unforgettable holiday with family or friends.

In summer, life is lived outdoors

The house and the swimming pool are bathed in sunlight throughout the day, so you can enjoy the outdoors at any moment.

The large covered terrace, with its generous dining table for more than 11 guests and charcoal barbecue, is perfect for long summer evenings filled with grilled dishes and lingering conversations well into the evening.

A second, smaller covered terrace with lounge seating invites you to slow down — whether for a quiet moment alone or a cosy chat at sunset.

Around the fully enclosed, heated swimming pool (8 × 4 m, June to the end of September), you will find 10 sun loungers and fixed wicker parasols.

Parking is available on the driveway, in front of the house, or at the top of the private access road.

The house is located directly on the GR63 hiking trail, giving you immediate access from your front door to beautiful walks through the surrounding countryside.

The open kitchen, spacious living area and multiple terraces invite you to cook, dine and unwind together — with everything at hand for a carefree holiday.

Living area and kitchen

The kitchen is fully equipped: a large refrigerator, separate freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher, Nespresso machine and filter coffee maker, citrus press, and complete tableware and crockery — perfect for cooking and dining together. Adjacent to the kitchen is a practical storage room with an additional refrigerator and freezer, washing machine, and iron with ironing board.
The open kitchen flows into a cosy living area with a large dining table (11 guests) and a spacious seating area. A Smart TV is also available. This way, you can comfortably spend time together indoors if a shower or summer storm passes through. The fireplace may not be needed during the summer months, but it still makes an impressive feature in the room.
A fun detail: the outline of the original 1970s conversation pit is still visible beneath the carpet.

In the National Park, nature truly follows its own rhythm. Among forests and mountain slopes, you may occasionally spot red deer or chamois; high above, griffon vultures and golden eagles circle in the sky.
In the evening, as dusk begins to fall, nature gently takes over. Nocturnal animals awaken — wild boar, foxes and badgers can sometimes be seen or heard — and the forest becomes alive with movement and sound. Wonderful!
Walking in the dark, however, is not recommended: the paths are unlit and wildlife roams freely at night. It is best to admire the scene from a distance — perhaps with a glass of wine on the terrace under the stars, listening to the night come alive.
