Location
Maison Peyre — at 997 Route du Roussel, 30460 Soudorgues — is tucked away in the Parc National des Cévennes, known for its unspoilt nature, winding rivers, chestnut forests and picturesque mountain villages. From the front door, you can step straight onto the GR63; quiet roads and footpaths lead you to hamlets, sweeping views and hidden swimming spots. It is a paradise for hikers, cyclists and those who appreciate peace, authenticity and the true spirit of southern France.
Locale amenities
In Soudorgues, there is a small village shop — Terre de Mauripe — where you can order bread and viennoiserie in the morning for the following day. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, you can also buy delicious artisanal bread and pastries from Najib. No need to pre-order, but don’t wait too long — they tend to sell out quickly. On Saturday evenings, the village oven is fired up and you can enjoy freshly baked pizza together with locals and fellow visitors. At weekends, there is also a small café-restaurant — La Balade Gourmande — offering a choice of two fresh seasonal menus.
For daily groceries, head to Lasalle (10 minutes away), where you’ll find a supermarket (Utile), bakeries, a pharmacy, medical practice, post office, newsagent and several local shops. On the village square, “Café de la Place” is a popular meeting spot for locals and visitors alike — perfect for a coffee, a glass of wine or a game of pétanque. Every Monday morning, the square turns into a lively market, where you can find local produce, cheeses, honey, vegetables and artisanal delicacies — highly recommended.
For larger and more budget-friendly shopping, you can visit Anduze or Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort (known locally as “Hippo”), both about a 30-minute drive away. There you’ll find supermarkets such as Intermarché, Lidl, Aldi and Utile Super.
Welcome package
Upon arrival, a complimentary welcome package awaits you in the kitchen, this way you can immediately enjoy your stay without a care. The package includes three kitchen towels, three dishcloths, a sponge, three dishwasher tablets and a few coffee capsules.
A bottle of wine will also be waiting for you in the fridge — the perfect way to toast to your holiday.
The kitchen is fully equipped to make your stay as comfortable as possible. You will find a Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, citrus press and toaster. In addition, there is a selection of herbs and basic pantry essentials available for your convenience.
We’ve also thought of the little ones.
Two high chairs and a junior chair are available, as well as two baby cots complete with mattress, duvet, pillows and bed linen.
There is also a changing table with two changing mats and a child’s potty.
You’ll find a selection of board games for different ages, along with some craft supplies for you to enjoy together.
Water and electricity consumption are included in the rental price.
Tap water is supplied by the public water company and is safe to drink.
Every room has radiators connected to the central heating system. However during the summer months, the central heating is turned off.
The use of the fire place in the living room is prohibited for safety and health reasons.
A stable and fast WiFi connection (fiber) is available in and around the house. The password will be shared with you upon arrival.
Bed linen and towels are always provided by us. Upon arrival, the requested beds are neatly made and each guest receives one small and one large bath towel. A bath mat is placed in every bathroom/shower room, and each washbasin in the house is equipped with a soap dispenser and a guest towel. Every toilet is stocked with at least one roll of toilet paper.
Towels and linens for use at the pool or beach should be brought by the guest. They can, however, be washed on site if needed.
After each rental period, a professional cleaning team thoroughly cleans the house. This ensures that every guest arrives to a spotless and fresh home.
Charging electric vehicles at the house is not permitted, as the necessary infrastructure is not available.
The nearest charging station is located in Lasalle, at Révéo, Rue de la Baraque, 30460 Lasalle.
Tip: from Thursday to Sunday, between 6 pm and 10 pm, the CVN pizza truck is parked at the same carpark, serving delicious freshly made pizzas — enjoy your pizza by the river while your car charges?!
A security deposit of €350 is required per booking. This serves as a guarantee to cover any potential damage to the house or its contents.
If anything is damaged during your stay, the compensation will be determined based on what has been affected. We kindly ask that any damage be reported immediately at the time it occurs.
This allows us to act quickly and repair or replace what is needed, so that both you and future guests can continue to enjoy the same level of comfort.
The security deposit must be paid together with the final payment of your stay.
It will be refunded within five days after departure, once our cleaning team has confirmed that the house is in good condition.
